Thailand Reopening in 2022 (Latest Update)

Thailand is reopening its border, lifting up restrictions, to welcoming both fully vaccinated and unvaccinated tourists again starting from May 1, 2022.

According to Thailand’s latest regulation on April 22, 2022, all tourists traveling to Thailand are required to register on the Thailand Pass system in advance, just a few days prior to travel to Thailand.

To submit your applications, you will need to prepare these documents below:

Fully Vaccinated Tourists

  • Photo of Passport in the .jpg or .png format.
  • Vaccination Certificate for every dose of Covid-19 vaccination in the .jpg or .png format.
  • Proof of Insurance with medical coverage in Thailand of at least USD 10,000.
    • The insurance declarations page should be in the .jpg or .png format.
    • Attach all insurance policy pages in the .pdf format at the end of the application.

Unvaccinated Tourists

  • Photo of Passport in the .jpg or .png format.
  • Covid-19 RT-PCR Test Result within 72 hours before traveling. Also, this should be in the .jpg or .png format.
  • Proof of Insurance with medical coverage in Thailand of at least USD 10,000.
    • The insurance declarations page should be in the .jpg or .png format.
    • Attach all insurance policy pages in the .pdf format at the end of the application.

After submitting the application, you will receive your Thailand Pass with a QR code sent to you by email. The QR code from your Thailand Pass, the visa and your passport will be required by the immigration upon at the airport in Thailand.

Both fully vaccinated and vaccinated tourists are no longer required to go through any Covid-19 Screening or take any Covid-19 test, both before and after their arrival in Thailand.
